Case Study: Setting the Right Tone

The design elements you choose to visually represent your brand speak for you in exactly the same way your words do. They set a tone and convey meaning to your audience in important ways, communicating not only what your organization does, but also how you do it and what it might be like to work with you. A thoughtful, visually appealing design signals that you have made an effort to stand in the shoes of your customer, that you are cognizant of their needs and care about the user experience.

We work hard to develop a deep knowledge of your brand identity and help you cultivate an authentic brand voice. At the same time, we also focus on creating a clear picture of your customers, your buyer personas. This gives our creative team a jumping off point for ideating on design elements that reinforce your brand identity.

One client in the education/training space asked us to update their company PowerPoint template, which they use frequently for creating teaching presentations. We began by running a branding workshop with key members of their leadership team so that we fully understood the use case for this particular piece of collateral, and also to capture their ideas around their brand personality. The desired use case was very broad, so we needed to design a template that covered many bases. After two rounds of design proposals, the client selected a template that freshened up their look, while maintaining their iconic logo for consistency. Their new template gave them exciting new visuals as well as more space on their slides, since we moved them to PowerPoint’s 16:9 aspect ratio.

Other clients have asked us to spearhead the creative direction for their new website, and to design the graphics and layout for long-form research reports.

While we are not a design shop, we have the resources and know-how to do light design projects that complement your marketing and communications strategy.
